The Constitution's station, WGM, debuted two days later on March 17. Station management would claim the call letters stood for "Welcome South, Brother," even though the Journal did not specifically request those call letters. The Journal's new station was issued the randomly assigned call sign WSB. The station's debut broadcast took place that evening. A broadcasting license was normally needed before a station could go on the air, but it was arranged to have an initial telegraphed authorization, which was sent by the Department of Commerce on the evening of March 15, 1922. A transmitter had been ordered, but facing a delay, the newspaper arranged for the equipment used by Gordon Heidt for his amateur station to be temporarily installed. The Journal established a makeshift studio on the fifth floor of its building at 7 Forsyth Street. In Atlanta, the primary contenders were the two major newspapers, the Atlanta Journal and the Atlanta Constitution. In many communities, a race broke out to see who would be the first to get a station on the air. By the end of the year, the number of authorized stations exceeded 500. Department of Commerce, in charge of radio at the time, adopted a regulation formally establishing a broadcasting station category, which set aside the wavelength of 360 meters (833 kHz) for entertainment broadcasts, and 485 meters (619 kHz) for farm market and weather reports. In early 1922, there was a tremendous public interest in the then-new technology of radio broadcasting. WSB was one of the first radio stations in the South. Please discuss this issue on the article's talk page. Please consider splitting content into sub-articles, condensing it, or adding subheadings. ![]() This section may be too long to read and navigate comfortably. Although WSB is licensed to make HD Radio digital transmissions, it is not doing so, apparently due to listener complaints of RF interference. However, it is strongest in the Southeast and East Coast. At night, when radio waves travel farther, WSB can be heard across much of the eastern half of North America with a good radio. Even so, it still provides at least secondary coverage well into the North Georgia mountains, and as far south as Macon. Its daytime coverage area is not as large as 50,000-watt AM stations in other parts of the country due to Georgia's poor ground conductivity as such, a number of outer Atlanta suburbs (such as Gainesville, Newnan, and Griffin) only receive a grade B signal. The transmitter and radiating tower are located seven miles (11 kilometers) northeast of Atlanta at the Northlake Tower Festival Shopping Center, off Lavista Road in Tucker, Georgia. WSB transmits with 50,000 watts of nondirectional power, the highest permitted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for commercial AM stations. The station's studios and offices are located at the WSB Television and Radio Group building on West Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, which is shared with its television and radio partners. ![]() ![]() From 1939 to 2019, WSB was owned by Cox Enterprises along with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution daily newspaper the station had been established by the Journal in 1922. WSB is the flagship station for Cox Media Group in addition to WSB and WSBB-FM, it owns three other Atlanta radio stations and Atlanta's ABC Television Network affiliate, WSB-TV. It airs a news/talk radio format, simulcast on Doraville-licensed WSBB-FM. WSB (750 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Atlanta, Georgia.

![]() What’s more, one can thoroughly upgrade a minibike with aftermarket parts for a fraction of what it would cost to build-out a big-bore moto project. On top of being cheaper to outright buy, minis are also far less expensive to register, maintain, and insure. The sensation of the wind in your face and the world speeding past you with nothing separating you from the ground is in no way lost on minibikes. While minibikes admittedly aren’t the most powerful or high-performance two-wheelers, they are nonetheless are capable of delivering a simple, stripped-down riding experience that maintains much of the thrills of full-size motos. So, whether you’re looking to dip your toes into the two-wheeled realm with a new rider-friendly, entry-level mini-bike, or you’re an experienced rider simply looking for a pocket-sized ride for grabbing groceries or cruising the neighborhood, this list has got you covered with everything from eighth-liter cult favorites to small-wheeled electrics to high-performance kart track racers. Realizing the average rider is likely privy only to a few of the more iconic mini-moto offerings available, we thought we’d take the time out to put together this hand-selected list of the best mini bikes for adults currently in production. In fact, today’s market includes a wide selection of minibikes that have been engineered specifically for adult riders, largely in response to the increased demand for adult-friendly minis over the last few years. And, from the outside looking in, it may appear that these diminutive little bikes are solely targeted at kids and smaller riders or lack freeway-capable speeds, though this simply isn’t the case. ![]() Having the ability to crack the throttle wide open and bang all the way through the gears on city streets without breaking a single law is far more enjoyable than keeping a liter-sized superbike in check and never getting out of second gear. These pint-sized scoots offer ample fun, thrills, and smiles-per-hour, relative to their size, displacement, and price. They say that it’s more fun to ride a slow bike fast than it is to ride a fast bike slowly, and no one genre of motorcycle epitomizes this phrase quite like the minibike. ![]() While Sony and Microsoft continued to develop the hardware of comparable top-end console features, Nintendo opted to focus on innovative gameplay. Microsoft entered the console hardware market in the early 2000s with its Xbox line, fearing that Sony's PlayStation positioned as a game console and entertainment device, would displace personal computers. By the late 1990s, the Internet also gained widespread consumer use, and video games began incorporating online elements. Both aspects were readily incorporated into personal computers and creating a market for graphics cards, including Sony's fledgling PlayStation console line, pushing Sega out of the console hardware market while diminishing Nintendo's role. In the early 1990s, advancements in microprocessor technology brought two major technology shifts, including the introduction of optical media via CD-ROMs and real-time 3D polygonal graphic rendering. The first major handheld video game consoles appeared in the 1990s, led by Nintendo's Game Boy platform. The latter part of the 1980s and early 1990s included video games driven by improvements and standardization in personal computers and the console war competition between Nintendo and Sega as they fought for market share in the United States. ![]() Nintendo released its Nintendo Entertainment System in the United States in 1985, helping to rebound the failing video games sector. The crash prompted Japan's video game industry to take leadership of the market, which had only suffered minor impacts from the crash. The 1983 video game crash in the United States was characterized by a flood of too many games, often of poor or cloned qualities, and the sector saw competition from inexpensive personal computers and new types of games being developed for them. Coupled with rapid growth in the golden age of arcade video games, including Space Invaders and Pac-Man, the home console market also flourished. After its home console conversions, numerous companies sprang up to capture Pong 's success in both the arcade and the home by cloning the game, causing a series of boom and bust cycles due to oversaturation and lack of innovation.īy the mid-1970s, low-cost programmable microprocessors replaced the discrete transistor–transistor logic circuitry of the early hardware, and the first ROM cartridge-based home consoles arrived, including the Atari Video Computer System (VCS). The first home video game console is the Magnavox Odyssey, and the first arcade video games are Computer Space and Pong. The first consumer video game hardware was released in the early 1970s. Spacewar! was developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) student hobbyists in 1962 as one of the first such games on a video display. The history of video games began in the 1950s and 1960s as computer scientists began designing simple games and simulations on minicomputers and mainframes. ![]() In addition to a slightly larger case, they boast sapphire crystal and the automatic Omega Co-Axial chronograph caliber 3330. Today, the Omega Speedmaster Racing is available in several sizes and with various dial colors. Racing models stand out with their improved readability thanks to the "racing" minute track, which Omega modeled after the checkered flag used at motor races. After this initial development, the bacterial biofilm develops into more diverse bacteria encased in a thick extracellular polymeric substance, with irregular calcifications. They showed that the initial biofilm (first 12 hours for slow plaque formers and first 6 hours for fast plaque formers) was composed of a majority of coccoid species. studied the ultrastructure and morphology of biofilms on aligners in “fast” and “slow” plaque formers. also analyzed intra-oral aged aligners and found abrasion at the cusp tips, adsorption of integuments and localized calcification of the precipitated biofilm at stagnation sites. demonstrated chemical and physical changes on aligners when they are worn: after 14 days, aligners showed microcracks and abraded and delaminated areas conducive to bacterial adhesion and growth, as well as localized calcified biofilm deposits and loss of transparency. ![]() showed that the surface of the aligner itself tends to be corrugated, presenting scratch marks, microabrasions and peaks, even if it is new, and these irregularities are the starting point of bacterial adhesion and development. Moreover, bacterial adhesion to aligners appears to be increased by the shape of the aligner, which contains grooves and ridges. demonstrated that the initial microbial adhesion and biofilm formation of aerobic and anaerobic oral species were similar between enamel, metal orthodontic brackets and aligner materials. Īlthough clear aligner orthodontic treatment demonstrated encouraging results in terms of the plaque index and gingival health control compared to classic fixed orthodontic treatment, bacteria can form oral biofilms on the surface of the aligners. As aligners meet patients’ needs for discreet and comfortable orthodontic appliances, demand has increased over the past decade, and several studies have been carried out on clear aligners, including their clinical efficacy, but also their comfort in terms of social life and practicality. Orthodontic procedures require the use of orthodontic appliances which can be fixed or removable, such as acrylic-based appliances or clear aligners. Further research is needed to define the most preventive oral health care protocol. (4) Conclusion: Although the determination of the most remarkable method of cleaning and disinfection was impossible because no direct comparison was conducted between all these methods, a multi-step protocol, including the combination of a mechanical and a chemical method, seems to be the most effective approach. Different cleaning and disinfection methods were studied such as mechanical methods (brushing with toothpaste or vibration), chemical methods/pharmaceutical products (chlorhexidine antibacterial substance, anionic or cationic detergents or effervescent tablets) or combinations of both. (3) Results: Among the 221 articles screened in the search process, 4 studies were included in the review, all designed as crossover studies (single arm without randomization with the same sequence of different cleaning and disinfection protocols for each participant). In case of disagreement, a third author was solicited throughout the selection process. The article selection, data extraction and risk of bias assessment were performed by two independent blinded review authors. Prospective studies, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs), crossover studies (COSs) and controlled clinical trials (CCTs), published in the English language without time restrictions, evaluating the efficacy of cleaning and disinfection protocols for clear orthodontic aligners by comparing them with a placebo or a negative control, were included. (2) Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted across four databases following the PRISMA guidelines up to May 2021, combining an electronic and a manual search. Therefore, preventive oral health care requires a cleaning and disinfection procedure for aligners. (1) Background: Clear orthodontic aligners support the development of oral biofilms, which could lead to interferences with the oral microbiota already existing and the deterioration of oral health, with the development of dental caries, periodontal disease and even systemic infections. ![]() ![]() Each hero also has four powers powers consume Stamina, so you can't just beat every foe in your path by mashing out your best attack power.
